Who is buying whom

Bally's Intralot S.A., an Athens-listed lottery, iGaming and sports betting group, has agreed to acquire evoke plc, the Gibraltar-incorporated owner of William Hill, 888 and Mr Green. The deal was announced on 5 June 2026 as a recommended all-share acquisition. It has been approved by evoke's shareholders, but it had not completed in the most recent report we checked, dated 23 October 2026. This brief separates what is confirmed from what is still pending.

What the deal changes, and what is not yet confirmed

If it completes, evoke would become part of Bally's Intralot. evoke's own brand page lists William Hill, 888casino, 888sport, 888poker, Mr Green and Winner, so those brands would move into the same group as Jackpotjoy, Virgin Games and Monopoly Casino, which Bally's Intralot already lists among its brands.

Several things are not confirmed by the sources. None of the material we used says that any brand will be renamed, merged, sold or moved to a different platform after completion, so we make no such forecast. Nor does it set a date for the court sanction hearing; evoke's August announcement placed it in the final quarter of 2026 or the first quarter of 2027, subject to the remaining conditions. The 23 October report did not say which regulatory approvals were still outstanding. Until completion, evoke and its brands remain under their current ownership.

The original announcements

The primary source is the joint announcement of 5 June 2026, which set out the offer terms, the scheme structure and the conditions, including gaming regulatory approvals in the UK and other countries. The results of evoke's court meeting and general meeting were announced on 17 August 2026. The status on 23 October 2026 comes from a news report on evoke's third-quarter trading update. All three are listed as sources below.

For the brands involved, read our guide to evoke's confirmed brands and William Hill and 888casino compared. For the buyer, our Jackpotjoy profile shows how Bally's Intralot already presents an existing brand, and the Intralot reorganisation update explains how the buyer itself was formed in October 2025.

What to watch next

The next confirmed steps would be the court sanction and the scheme taking effect. We will update this brief when an official announcement confirms either, with the actual date. Until then, treat William Hill and 888 as evoke brands that are subject to an agreed but incomplete takeover, and see Ownership Updates for other confirmed changes.
